Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Latest Camera Updates

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra big updates are here.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra could use a 200MP ISOCELL camera that hasn’t come out yet

Since the Galaxy S20 Ultra came out, Samsung phones have had very high-resolution cameras. The company’s top phones, the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S21 Ultra, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, all had 108MP cameras. Now, the company seems ready to go to the next level with a sensor that has an even higher resolution.

The leaker Ice Universe says that the main camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be 200MP. The South Korean company is said to be using the ISOCELL HP2, a 200MP sensor that hasn’t been released yet. If you remember, Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 was their first camera sensor with 200MP. A few weeks ago, the company showed off the ISOCELL HP3, its second 200MP sensor.

It looks like both the ISOCELL HP1 and the ISOCELL HP3 won’t do as well as the ISOCELL HP2. Yes, even we don’t always understand how Samsung names its products. For example, the ISOCELL GN2 is a better sensor than the ISOCELL GN1, but the ISOCELL GN5 isn’t as good as either of those.

Back to the ISOCELL HP2, we still don’t know how big it is. But if it works better, it would have to be bigger than the ISOCELL HP1 (1/1.22-inch sensor) or have better deep trench isolation technology. Experts aren’t sure why Samsung is using such high-resolution cameras when it would be better to use sensors with lower resolution and bigger pixels.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra could use a 0.60m-pixeled ISOCELL HP2 sensor, which is a mystery

There is a lot of talk about the next-generation camera that Samsung will put in its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Industry experts are sure that the device won’t use the ISOCELL HP1 or ISOCELL HP3 sensors that are already out there. Instead, it will use a new camera that Samsung hasn’t announced yet.

Both the HP1 and the HP3 are 200-megapixel cameras. The Galaxy S23 Ultra could also have a 200MP sensor, and leaker @UniverseIce now thinks that Samsung’s next flagship phone could have the so-called ISOCELL HP2. The latter isn’t in Samsung’s lineup right now, and it hasn’t even been announced.

Samsung is in the game of making phones with high-resolution cameras

As for specs, the ISOCELL HP1 and HP3 have pixels that are 0.64m and 0.56m, respectively. The source also thinks that the ISOCELL HP2 sensor could be in the middle and have pixels that are 0.60m.

crazier rumors said that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra might have a 450MP camera, which sounds too good to be true. And other rumors say that the zoom camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra might not get any upgrades.

No matter what happens, there is a very good chance that Samsung will upgrade the main camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra to a sensor with a higher resolution than 108MP. For years, the company didn’t make high-resolution cameras, but now it seems like it wants to set an example and beat its competitors in the numbers game.

We have a long way to go before we can sell the Galaxy S23 Ultra. You can expect this top-of-the-line device to come out early in 2019.
