Top 10 Best Solo Travel Destinations in 2022

Solo Travel

Welcome to the Solo Travel. For the past ten years, I’ve been travelling the world on my own. Solo trips across the world include everything from wine tasting in Tuscany to waffle making classes in Paris. We’ve curated a list of our favourite solo exploration destinations throughout the world.

Following The Best Solo Travel Destination

Canada

Let’s start with Canada, which is a great destination for solitary adventurers because it’s so diverse.

Outdoor adventure, National Parks, and incredible road excursions are just few of the things our country has to offer. The sheer expanse of Canada will take your breath away if you’re visiting for the first time. It’s a lot of space!

If you’re seeking an unforgettable winter vacation, Alberta should be at the top of your list. For adventurers, it is without a doubt the most picturesque province in Canada, as well as the location of some of the most stunning winter landscapes and fields.

Visit the province of Quebec in French Canada for an unforgettable cultural experience. From the French-influenced cuisine

New York City

If you ask me, New York Place is the one city in the world that I’d rather visit on my own. There is a strong sense of individualism in this city, with everyone (even you!) seeming to be on a mission. It’s difficult to run out of things to do in New York City, which has a plethora of cultural offerings.

New York City is a great place to get your bearings before embarking on your journey. Getting a better sense of the city’s layout will make your trip more pleasurable. Do not be scared to explore outside of Manhattan once you have conquered it! There are some wonderful restaurants, record stores, and boutique shops in the neighbouring boroughs. As a result, if you want to experience New York City to the fullest, head to Queens, the Bronx, and Brooklyn.

Stockholm, the capital of Sweden

Sweden is a great place to be alone in Europe. If you’re on foot or taking the metro for the first time, getting around is a breeze. There is no better way to see the city’s underground creativity than by taking the metro at least once.

The Gamla Stan district of Stockholm is a great place to start your journey. Then, to make the most of your archipelago journey, get on the water and do a few day cruises further afield. Another thing to keep in mind is that this city can be pricey for lone travellers! So be prepared by researching upcoming events in advance, connecting to the Internet to give the impression that you’re a local, and visiting all of the area bakeries to have a good time.

Thailand

Thailand is one of the best countries to visit as a Solo Travel if you’re looking for a tropical retreat rather than a city. For the lonely traveller in search of some alone time, this country has a plethora of wonderful places to relax and recharge. In Bangkok, a vibrant and fast-paced metropolis, you can experience the best of Southeast Asia’s street food and markets. Then have a relaxing beach vacation in Thailand, followed by a cultural tour to Chiang Mai.

France’s capital city, Paris, is located here

In the end, I couldn’t compose a list of the best cities for Solo Travel without including Paris! Visits to Paris, where I consider myself a self-professed Francophile, will never get old for me. I’ve been to cities all around Europe, but this is the one that makes me feel most at home.

Starting with a central location, I’d reserve a hotel, apartment, or Airbnb. You’ll be able to explore the city primarily on foot, with the option of taking the train for longer distances if necessary. It’s also a good idea to get out and walk around the city’s best areas before venturing further afield. On a Sunday, Le Marais is my favourite neighbourhood in Paris.

New Zealand

New Zealand is the ideal destination for Solo Travel. For those who appreciate adventure and the outdoors, this country is nearly tailor-made for these kinds of trips! You may be torn between visiting New York’s North or South Island because of the age-old question of where to go first.

You can’t go wrong with either choice, but if you’re looking for the best of both worlds, visit them both! Concentrate your explorations if you’re only in town for two weeks or less in one of these two ways. In the winter, the South Island of New Zealand is the best spot to visit (mid-year). More beaches and natural beauties await you on the North Island throughout the summer months (December-March).

The city of Hong Kong

By a long shot, Hong Kong is the best city in Asia’s major cities to visit. It’s possible that the truth is to blame. Even though I’ve been back at least five or six times since then, I’ve never grown weary of it! So, what’s so great about it for solitary travellers?

East and West meet in mythical fashion in Hong Kong. From authentic Chinese cuisine to the almost endless amount of temples and religious sites to visit, you can immerse yourself in every facet of Eastern culture. However, you also have a modern city that is a favourite choice for Western ex-pats. On your own, it’s one of the world’s best cities to explore, with one of the most user-friendly metro systems.

A journey to the continent of Europe

Next, there’s nothing better than a traditional European getaway! My first solo trip to Europe was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. When I embarked on a three-week solo trip to the hemisphere at the age of twenty, I was still a college student. I visited Paris, London, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and Salzburg on that trip.

For your first European vacation, you might wonder: how do I choose where to go? My advice is to pick a region and stick with it. While Western Europe is a terrific place to start, if you’re short on finances, it’s best to travel further East. The best of both worlds can be found in a Euro vacation to Central Europe, where Berlin, Vienna, Prague, and Budapest can all be explored.

Indonesian island of Bali

As a solo traveller, I still believe that Bali is the finest place to visit. There’s something peaceful about the chaos that draws lone travellers seeking cultural overload. Canggu is a great location to start if you’re planning a trip to Indonesia, even if the island appears daunting at first glance.

Japan

It’s time to move on to the next country. When it reopens to tourists, Japan will likely be one of the safest places to visit, thanks to its strict covid policy and the fact that it is currently closed to foreigners. Because of this, Japan is one of the safest countries in the world to visit. I’ve been to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto twice, and neither time did I feel unsafe or unwelcome.
