Some products, such as sunscreen, moisturizers, and a traditional cleanser, are essential, but others are designed for those who wish to go the extra mile. LED Face Masks, the salon-style devices that can be used at home, have arrived.
While we cannot precisely call these high-tech devices essential, it is well known that they produce excellent results. According to Dr. Nyla, a skin specialist and proprietor of Dr. Nyla Medispa Clinics, they can brighten skin, reduce wrinkles, lighten dark spots, treat acne, increase elasticity, and decrease oil secretion.
Using different wavelengths and colours of light, LED face masks can be used three to five times per week for 20-minute intervals (or according to the brand’s specific instructions), with some masks having adjustable settings for each concern.

How we evaluated
Over the course of three months, our expert examiner examined every LED mask they could get their hands on, from full-face to hand-and-neck options, to determine which ones were the most impressive. Based on their usability, comfort, range of parameters, and results, we rated each one out of five and provided a detailed analysis below.
Current body-skin LED face mask for light therapy
CurrentBody is a well-known go-to for red-carpet preparations, and it was observed in the most recent season of Emily in Paris. So it’s fair to say that we had high expectations, and we were not disappointed when we tried it.
Made from medical-grade silicone, it conforms to every area of the face and is gentle against the skin. The ten-minute treatment is incredibly simple to use and uses a combination of red and near-infrared light to stimulate collagen and elastin production as well as new cell renewal. It is powered by a rechargeable battery pack and can be worn around the home, but as it is quite bright, you will need to close your eyes (eye covers are also included in case you are slightly sensitive). Our tester’s face felt tighter and appeared brighter after just one application, and the results appeared to improve with repeated use.
DRx Spectralite Eyecare Professional
If you are mildly claustrophobic, dislike full-face masks, or wish to focus solely on the eye area, this LED mask may be for you. This smaller, more targeted mask, which resembles a cross between ski goggles and glasses, is a fast and easy treatment for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, specifically crow’s feet and frown lines.
It contains 80 LED lights with wavelengths of amber, red, deep red, and infrared, and it penetrates directly into the hypodermis layer of skin, stimulating collagen production and adjusting skin tone and texture. As the eye area is one of the first areas to develop fine lines and wrinkles, our testers incorporated this three-minute treatment into their nightly regimen.
Unlike most other masks, it allows you to walk and see while wearing it, although perusing a book may be difficult. This means you can continue with your day while reaping the benefits, and it’s also comfortable. To conclude the treatment, apply a moisturiser or eye cream and wipe the mask clean with a damp cloth. After approximately three weeks, we began to see results: fewer eye creases and a reduction in fine lines; however, the manufacturer claims it takes ten weeks to see the full effects.
Sensible expert LED facial mask
If you’re looking for a comprehensive LED mask, look no further than this Sense product. With four settings, each corresponding to a distinct colour of light, and 90 LEDs, it stimulates lymphatic flow, combats fine lines and wrinkles, eliminates blemishes, and evens out skin tone and texture. You can wear it around the house for the full 10 minutes (5 minutes for beginners) of your treatment, as it is linked to a little rechargeable controller.
The internal eye protection was a feature that our tester adored and loathed simultaneously. Because the mask is so bright, silicone strips are put around the eye holes to block out any light. This lets you see while wearing it, but it is not as bright as the mask and is not as pleasant to wear as the Currentbody pick (£279, Currentbody.com). Our testers observed an almost immediate reduction in facial puffiness after using the product for the first time. And after using it every other day for approximately four weeks, acne scars began to diminish, and skin tone became more even.
Mask Déesse Pro LED phototherapy
Let us introduce you to the Déesse Pro, an LED Face mask for those who take their hygiene extremely seriously and are willing to invest a lot of money. Despite the fact that all LED face masks are pricey, the Déesse Pro is the most expensive, costing close to £1,500. However, once you discover that it is the most salon-like option, the price becomes a little more understandable.
This hard plastic mask contains 770 LED bulbs, which is significantly more than the others on this list. It has six different settings and four distinct lights to promote wound healing, reduce acne, fine lines, and wrinkles, even out skin tone and texture, stimulate collagen, and increase circulation. It truly does everything. The disadvantage of such a potent piece of equipment is that it must be plugged into the wall and is not as comfortable as the soft silicone alternatives we tested.
However, after just one use, our testers noticed an immediate brightening of their skin and felt as though they were receiving a salon-quality treatment each time they used the product.
Silk’n neck mask
Yes, this is not a face mask, but let’s proceed. It’s unsurprising that we’re now seeing a surge in LED face masks for both the neck and hands, as these areas are frequently the first to show signs of ageing, even if we have an exceptional skincare routine and other more intensive assistance. In the same manner as for the face, they are designed to reduce wrinkles, enhance elasticity, skin tone, and texture.
The Silk’n neck mask wraps around the front of the neck like a thick choker, with an adjustable elastic rear that is surprisingly comfortable. It can be worn around the home by simply plugging it into the rechargeable controller, or in conjunction with your face mask if you’re attempting a full DIY beauty treatment.
There are four light settings—red, blue, yellow, and purple—that, as Dr. Nyla explained, produce various results and can be used for 10 to 15 minutes, three to five times per week. The fact that this mask may be used on any area of the body, despite being a solid block of light, was the deciding factor for us. We also found that it did a fantastic job of clearing up acne on our chests and backs.
Rio FaceLite enhancing beauty LED facial mask
This Rio LED mask, comparable in many ways to the Omnilux mask (£290; Omniluxled.com), makes the beauty procedure exceedingly simple. Soft silicone wraps around the face, and a single strap secures it at the rear of the head. For those who are more sensitive to light, convenient eye guards are included to block it even further, allowing you to continue working, reading, or even viewing television while being pampered.
The 10-minute treatment is designed to enhance skin texture, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. Combining red and near-infrared light to stimulate collagen and blood flow, the brand claims you can use it three times per week with visible results after just one month. We used it for a shorter period of time, but we can still see results, including a reduction in redness and fine lines on our forehead, which is a huge bonus.
This may be too tiny for those with long faces, so it’s ideal for those with slightly smaller heads. In addition, it comes with four varieties of plugs, allowing you to use it almost anywhere in the world.
