The two flagship phones from Google, reportedly called the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, are anticipated to be introduced later this year. The release is still a few months away, but that isn’t stopping the gossip mill from constantly leaking fresh information. Following the previous leak of the Pixel 8 Pro’s specs, a new source has disclosed the likely RAM and storage variants of the phones.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models
According to a claim from the German publication WinFuture, the Pixel 8 will offer the same 128GB and 256GB storage options as its predecessor.
The Pixel 8 will come in Licorice, Peony, and Haze colour options.
The larger Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, will be available in three storage configurations: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
It is expected that the phone will be available in three different hues: licorice, porcelain, and sky.
The most essential Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro features
The Pixel 8 Pro’s display is rumoured to have a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. However, the Pixel 8’s display is a 6.17-inch 120Hz AMOLED with 1440 nits of peak brightness and 427 pixels per inch (PPI).
The Google Tensor G3 chipset and the Titan security chip are what power the most recent high-end phones.
The operating system (OS) preloaded on both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro is probably Android 14.
The Pixel 8 Pro is rumoured to have a 50 MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 64 MP ultrawide camera. The Pixel 8 Pro is anticipated to possess a primary camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels, accompanied by optical image stabilisation (OIS). Additionally, it is reported to include an ultrawide camera with a resolution of 64 megapixels and a telephoto lens with a resolution of 48 megapixels. The front camera could be an 11-megapixel unit.
Cameras on the Pixel 8: Google is rumoured to be planning to include a 50MP GN2 primary sensor, a 12MP IMX386 ultra-wide, and a ToF camera on the Pixel 8. The front-facing camera is an 11-megapixel unit.
The Pixel 8 Pro is rumoured to include a 4,950mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging. The Pixel 8 has a lower 4,485mAh battery but supports rapid charging at 20W via cable and 12W wirelessly.
