What to Expect at Google Pixel 7 Event

Google Pixel 7

The Google Pixel 7 series and the Pixel Watch have been teased by Google for months.0 At its Made by Google event in New York on Thursday, the company will finally show off the new gadgets.

Here is what we think these devices will have, from rumors to confirmed specs.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

Google first showed off the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro at its annual I/O developer conference in May.

Both phones will have a Google-made Tensor chip from the second generation. The Pixel 6 series was the first to use the processor, which made it possible for the camera system to get new features. This includes Magic Eraser, which gets rid of unwanted things in photos, and Real Tone, which shows more realistic skin tones. We don’t know much about the second-generation Tensor chip yet, but similar improvements based on machine learning are probably in store.

The Pixel 7 line will have Android 13 on it. The camera bar is the most obvious difference between it and the Pixel 6. On the back of the Pixel 6, there is a long black camera bar. The Pixel 7 will have a similar bar, but it will be made of recycled aluminum and have black camera cutouts that stand out more.

Google’s renders show that the Pixel 7 Pro, like the Pixel 6 Pro, will have three cameras on the back. From the pictures, it looks like it will have a standard wide lens, an ultrawide lens, and a telephoto lens. And it looks like the standard Google Pixel 7 has two cameras on the back, just like the Pixel 6.

Images that Google released in May show that the front camera on the Pixel 7 will be in the shape of a pill. The Pixel 7 Pro, on the other hand, will have a pill-box cut out and a punch-hole cutout. Together, these three cameras will sort of look like an upside-down exclamation point.

We don’t know the exact dates yet, but we do know that the phones should be out in October.

Pixel Watch

For a long time, people have been waiting for Google to release a smartwatch, and finally, they have. In May, the company gave a sneak peek of the Pixel Watch at I/O. They showed what it would look like and said that it would have some health-tracking features from Fitbit, which is a Google subsidiary. But we do know some more general information about the design and features of the watch.

For example, we know that the Pixel Watch has a round face with a rounded top and glass that seems to curve over the edges. It’s made of recycled stainless steel and has a crown that feels like the one on the Apple Watch. Word on the street is that the watch will be 14 millimeters thick and 40 millimeters wide. Google’s Wear OS will, of course, power the Pixel Watch.

We’re also hoping to see some Fitbit features, like the ability to track heart rate and sleep. You’ll be able to see your heart rate and how many steps you’ve taken right on the watch face.

Google will make the Pixel Watch available with 4G LTE, so it can stay connected to the cell network even when there is no phone nearby. This is different from Fitbit smartwatches, which don’t have a way to connect to a cell phone.

Word on the street is that the Pixel Watch will have a 300 mAh battery that will last for about a day on a single charge. It’s been said that it will have 1.5GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, but neither of these things has been confirmed yet.

One thing to keep in mind is that, according to a Google spokesperson, the Pixel Watch won’t work with iPhones because it was made to go with Google’s Pixel devices.

Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president of devices and services, says that even though we don’t know how much the Pixel Watch will cost, it will be priced as a high-end product. It’s not clear what that could mean, but it could compete with the Apple Watch Series 8, which starts at $399, and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, which starts at around $250.

Google says the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi version of the watch will cost $350, and the cellular version is said to cost $50 more. People think that the Pixel Watch will come in black, silver, and gold. Straps can also be made to fit your needs.

At Google’s event on Thursday, you can find out about the latest product updates and official specs.

Google Wifi Pro Nest

Now that we’ve talked about the obvious things, it’s time to talk about things that might be a surprise at the event. The new Google Nest Wifi Pro is one of these things that could show up on our screens.

We know that the device is called the Google Nest Wifi Pro 6E Router because of a product page that was made public before it was ready. The leak showed that the smart home product will be able to connect to Wi-Fi 6E and will cost $199. The device will also be sold in packages of two and three for $299 and $399, respectively.

The Google Nest Wifi Pro 6E Router is likely to come in “Snow,” which is white, “Linen,” which is light brown, “Fog,” which is light blue, and “Lemongrass,” which is light yellow/green.

Miscellaneous

Companies often use events like this to show off products that are already on the market, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Google did the same. Why not, when everyone is looking at you? Google could put up some pictures and talk for a minute or two about some of its Fitbit wearables. For example, the Fitbit Sense 2 and the Versa 4 just came out, and Google may spend some time putting the spotlight on these devices.
