HTC has launched VIVE Pro 2 and VIVE Focus 3 two VR headsets

VIVE Pro 2 and VIVE Focus 3

HTC has released two VR headsets, the VIVE Pro 2 and the VIVE Focus 3, both of which will be available next month. The VIVE VIVE Pro 2 is a consumer-focused successor, while the VIVE Focus 3 is an all-in-one business-oriented headset. In today’s blog, we’ll go over the specs of both VR headsets.

VIVE Pro 2 and VIVE Focus 3

The VIVE Pro 2 and VIVE Focus 3 are HTC’s new ergonomic and high-performance VR headsets. They are an improvement over their predecessors, with faster refresh speeds, better audio quality, and a wider field of view. Find out what to expect from these VR headsets in the video below.

The VIVE Pro 2 has a faster refresh rate and higher resolution than the original VIVE Pro

The VIVE Pro VR headset, which has a 120-degree field of view, a 120-Hz refresh rate, and premium 5K clarity (with 2.5K resolution in each eye), is a significant improvement over the original VIVE Pro, which had a 90-Hz refresh rate and a 110-degree field of view. However, these aren’t the only distinguishing features of the VIVE Pro 2; it also supports Display Stream Compression, which is a first for a VR headset. This technology decreases bandwidth in order to eliminate motion blur. Although this updated VR headset has some promising features, if you want a smooth refresh rate, you’ll need a high-performance PC to drive the 4,096 x 2,448 panel.

In addition, this VR headset has a dual-lens feature. Yes, each eye has two lenses that are stacked on top of each other. This nature is responsible for the wide field of view while still preventing blurring around the edges.

The ergonomic nature of this VR headset ensures maximum comfort. You’ll get adjustable straps and sizing dials, as well as an adjustable interpupillary width (IPD). Hi-Res Audio Certified headphones with 3D spatial sound are also included with this VR headset. You can also attach this headset to your favourite headphones. It’s also a little slimmer and more lightweight than the original VIVE Pro, but the company has yet to reveal the exact dimensions and weight.

The VIVE Pro 2 will be available for pre-order on HTC’s official website starting today for $799, with a release date of June 4th.

The VIVE Focus 3 has a 5K screen and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and it is a step up from the VIVE Focus Plus

The VIVE Focus 3 has a 5K screen, a 120-degree field of view, and a battery that can be swapped out. This VR headset is an improvement over its predecessor, the VIVE Focus Plus, and shares many of the same features. For example, it employs inside-out monitoring, which was designed specifically for business customers.

Without a question, the VIVE Focus 3’s main focus is its show. It has a 2,448 x 2,448 panel on each eye and a generous refresh rate of 90 Hz. This is an improvement over the VIVE Focus Plus’s 75 Hz refresh rate and 1,400 x 1,600-pixel resolution per eye. Furthermore, the VIVE Focus 3 has an extra 10 degrees of field of view to slightly enhance your vision.

You can also use this VR headset for extended periods of time because of the active cooling mechanism and a thermally optimised battery that will not overheat for longer sessions and improved performance. In reality, because of the swappable battery mounted on the back, which also provides better weight distribution, you’ll want to wear this headset for longer. HTC also confirms that the phone will have a two-hour battery life and a quick-charging feature that will enable you to charge it to 50% in as little as 30 minutes. Once charged, the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chip maintains the high performance of this VR headset.

HTC emphasises high-quality audio with this headset, as it does with the VIVE Pro 2. It has dual-driver open-back speakers that produce 3D spatial sound. A high-resolution 3.5 mm audio jack is also available for optimum sound quality. Because of the directional speaker design, you will experience less sound leakage, ensuring that conversations between you and a participant are safe.
