How to create a WhatsApp Channel. Everything you need to know

WhatsApp

WhatsApp has primarily been used for personal communication, whether it be with family, friends, or coworkers, separate from corporate communication. But the most recent update shows that the app wants to become much more than that.

In WhatsApp’s most recent update, there’s a new feature that lets you follow changes from the people and groups that are important to you right inside the app. The feature, which is called WhatsApp Channels, is a one-way broadcast tool that will send information to a new tab called information, which is separate from your chats with family, friends, and groups.

Over the next few weeks, channels are being added all over the world. They will be offered in over 150 countries, including India. You can automatically find channels to follow based on your country, or you can look for channels by name or category. You can also see which channels are new, the most active, and the most famous based on how many people follow them.

You can already follow some of the most famous people, sports teams, artists, thought leaders, and groups from India and around the world on WhatsApp. For example, you can watch the Indian Cricket team, Katrina Kaif, Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar, Vijay Deverakonda, Neha Kakkar, and many others from India. Mark Zuckerberg has also started his own WhatsApp Channel, where he will share news about Facebook and WhatsApp goods.

Based on what the company says, WhatsApp Channels are meant to be the most private way to broadcast. If you follow a channel, the admin and other users won’t see your phone number or profile picture. Also, following a channel won’t give the manager your phone number. Who you choose to follow is up to you, and it’s your business. Also, the data of the channels will only be kept for 30 days.

You can also respond to changes with emojis and see how many others have done the same. How you respond won’t be shown to other people who follow you. You can also send information to chats or groups with a link back to the channel so people can learn more. You can easily mute or unsubscribe from a channel at any time if you want to stop watching it.

At the same time, as an admin, you can use your current WhatsApp account or make a new one to create a channel. You can also change your updates for up to 30 days, after which they will be deleted from WhatsApp servers immediately.
