Here are Hidden Galaxy S23 Features That Make Life Easier
1) Clip objects from your photos and videos with a single click
As Apple did with iOS 16, Samsung has added an image-clipping feature to the Galaxy S23. You can use image clipping to separate an object, such as a person or an item, from the background of any image (or even video) in your photo gallery, allowing you to share it with others.
To remove something from an image, go to your camera roll and simply press on the object you want to remove from the photo. Because not all objects can be clipped, you may receive a notification saying “Couldn’t find anything to clip.” If you successfully clip an object, you will feel a slight vibration and drag the clipped object around the photo. Videos must be paused to work.
You can then copy the clip to your clipboard, email it, send it via SMS, or save it as a new photo in your gallery.
2) Take Expert RAW photos with your camera
In 2022, Samsung released Expert RAW, an advanced camera app that allows experienced photographers to shoot in Expert RAW format. Expert RAW files, like RAW files, are uncompressed digital images with the added benefit of multi-exposure HDR, which gives your images more dynamic range. The only reason to shoot in Expert RAW is for better photo editing in post-production. The Expert RAW app is the only way to access Expert RAW on the Galaxy S22. Expert RAW is now built into the native camera on the Galaxy S23, but you must first enable it.
Swipe through Samsung camera options at the bottom and press More.After that, tap Expert RAW, which will prompt you to download the Expert RAW application. To shoot in Expert Raw, you only need to have the app downloaded on your device, but you won’t need to open it. Once downloaded, you can use your camera’s Expert RAW mode to take Expert RAW photos.
3) Put battery life ahead of processing speed
There are numerous ways to conserve battery life, including turning off your phone, using dark mode, and activating airplane mode, but Samsung has added a battery-saving feature to the Galaxy S23.The new Light mode prioritizes battery life and cooling efficiency over processing speed, which means your phone will use less energy to conserve battery life without interfering with normal use.
To enable the new Light performance mode, go to Settings and type “performance profile” into the search bar. A single result should appear under “Battery and device care.” Tap it. While this feature does not apply while gaming, it may affect the performance of other apps, so return to Standard if you experience any problems.
4) Select which apps’ notifications appear on your lock screen
You may not want to receive notifications for every single application on your lock screen if your Galaxy S23 is locked. Rather than enabling Do Not Disturb mode, which disables all alerts in general, a new feature allows you to customize what appears on your lock screen.
Navigate to Notifications > Lock screen notifications in the Settings app, then tap the gear icon next to Show content. A list of all the apps on your phone will appear. If you don’t want certain app notifications to appear on your lock screen, turn them off here.
5) On your home screen, check the battery life of all your Galaxy devices
Samsung simplifies Galaxy device battery monitoring. You’ll find two new battery widgets in your home screen customization settings that you can add to your home screen to check the battery life of your Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, and other devices on your Galaxy S23.
Go into Widgets by pressing your finger anywhere on a blank space on your home screen. You can now add two new battery widgets to your home screen: 4×1 grid battery status circles and a 4×2 grid battery status list. You can check the battery life of your other Galaxy products from your home screen, as long as they are connected to your S23.
