Best Samsung Galaxy phones of 2022: Which Galaxy model should you buy?

Samsung Galaxy

The ranks for the top Samsung Galaxy phones this month. On August 10, the second Galaxy Unpacked event will take place, and we anticipate seeing new foldable devices from the world’s leading smartphone manufacturer. This could prompt us to reconsider which Samsung smartphone is the best.

Currently, your best chance is to get one of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 phones — the $1,199 Galaxy S22 Ultra if you can afford it (or find a good deal), but any S22 model offers excellent performance, a bright display, and top-tier cameras. However, Samsung provides phones at various pricing points, several of which are also ranked among the best phones. This is also true if you choose a device from Samsung’s Galaxy A series.

In August, though, the spotlight will be on foldable, especially given Samsung Galaxy phones dominance in the market for foldable phones. According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will likely continue this pattern if they launch on August 10 as anticipated.

Until then, these are the top Samsung phones now available for purchase, with your choice depending on the type of phone you like and your budget. And if you do, be sure to check out the first app you should install on your Samsung Galaxy phones and all of the other hidden Samsung features that will revolutionize the way you use it.

The Top Samsung Galaxy Phones

1) Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Then go no further than the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the crown jewel of Samsung’s latest flagship phone lineup. The design of the S22 Ultra is reminiscent of a Galaxy Note model, right down to the slot for the accompanying S Pen, which propels it to the top of our list.

This is not merely a rehash of the Galaxy Note, though, as the Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts the brightest display we’ve ever seen, a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and excellent camera enhancements. The bigger sensor on the new Ultra’s primary camera lets in more light for improved low-light photography, and we also value software enhancements such as the enhanced Portrait mode. Samsung has rolled out improvements for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra camera, including an improvement in portrait mode performance.

We’d like longer battery life, but we enjoy that Samsung has returned to 45W charging for this model. All things considered, this is an excellent phone that should appeal to any Samsung fan desiring the greatest possible device.

2) Samsung Galaxy S22

As impressive as the Galaxy S22 Ultra is, it has the second-highest starting price of any new Samsung smartphone, trailing only the Galaxy Z Fold 3. While you get what you pay for with the Ultra, the Galaxy S22 offers many of the same capabilities for hundreds of dollars less.

The Galaxy S22 has the same chipset as more expensive S22 versions and a brighter display than its predecessor, however, the S22 Ultra and S22 Plus are more impressive. Samsung has enhanced the Galaxy S22’s cameras, which now produce exceptional low-light and engaging portrait images. In contrast to other flagship smartphones in its price range, the Galaxy S22 features a dedicated telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

Other Galaxy S22 versions offer faster cable charging, and the battery life of the S22 leaves something to be desired. However, for $799, this model provides the optimal blend of quality features and value.

3) Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

It is tempting to overlook the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, as it is sandwiched between the more affordable Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. But make no mistake, the Galaxy S22 Plus is an exceptional Samsung smartphone in its own right. If you’ve owned the same phone for more than two years, the Galaxy S22 Plus can provide you with a superior experience without the Ultra’s exorbitant cost.

The Galaxy S22 Plus is powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU as the S22 Ultra, and while the latter phone has more advanced camera specifications, the Galaxy S22 Plus can hold its own in low-light shooting. You may also enjoy the same brilliant display and rapid 45W charging as the Galaxy S22 Ultra for $200 less.

If you can’t afford the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Galaxy S22 Plus is the big-screen phone to get. It is another piece of evidence that Samsung has mastered the art of creating devices with a pleasant display.

4) Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is still Samsung’s top-tier folding smartphone, especially given that the updated version includes 120Hz displays on the inside and outside. In addition, the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 is more robust than ever before, thanks to an IPX8 grade for water resistance. The Armor Aluminum body is tougher than before, and the phone’s Gorilla Glass Vicus display should lessen the possibility of scratches and other damage.

One of the nicest things Samsung did was get more app developers to optimize their software for the folding display of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Popular applications such as Spotify and TikTok will now take advantage of the Z Fold 3’s distinctive form factor. Samsung included S Pen compatibility as well, and while the primary display provides plenty of space for sketching and taking notes, it’s unfortunate that the pen is an optional attachment (you’ll have to pay extra for both the S Pen and a case for holding it).

The Galaxy Z Fold 3’s battery life may be improved, and although its pricing is lower than that of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, $1,799 is still a lot to pay for a phone. However, if you want a premium gadget with a large screen, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the greatest Samsung smartphone with a foldable display to date. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is likely to be released this month, and the most prominent reports say that the latest foldable will feature an improved design and a faster chipset.

5) Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

You do not have to pay full price for the Galaxy S21’s premium features. The Galaxy S21 FE has a Snapdragon 888 processor, a fast-refreshing display, and cameras that can compete with the best camera phones for $100 less than the ordinary Galaxy S21.

There are some compromises. This device has less RAM than other Galaxy S21 models from Samsung, and the refresh rate on the 6.4-inch display is not adaptive; it must be manually adjusted.

The S21 Plus has a larger screen than the normal S21, along with every other feature you’d want in a Samsung smartphone. The Galaxy S22 will debut at $799, which is only $100 more than the Galaxy S21 FE. This is a reasonable price for a more modern phone, but if you can’t spend more than $699, the Galaxy S21 FE still offers a wealth of capabilities for less than you’d anticipate.

6) Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the first foldable phone that is “cheap.” It features high-end specifications and the ability to fold in half horizontally, starting at $999. This results in a pocketable device that carries a significant punch.

However, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has several drawbacks, including poor battery life. When the display was locked at 60Hz, it lasted only 6 hours in our tests. In contrast to other phones in this price range, the Flip 3 lacks telephoto capabilities. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a revolutionary product.

If you select the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition, the phone can become even more original. This $1,099 model offers 49 different color choices for the frame, front panel, and back panel. Samsung markets this option as a method to add a personal touch to an already distinctive-looking handset.

Similar to the Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is scheduled to be replaced in August. Examining the most prominent rumors about the Galaxy Z Flip 4 can reveal whether the new phone will be worth the wait.
